Duration: 1 February 2021-31 January 2022

Budget: 460.000,00 euros (12.200,00 euros IRNASA)

Summary

The goal of i-SoMPE is to promote innovative soil management practices (SMPs) and agricultural systems to enhance ecosystem services in order to minimize soil threats and sustain agriculture in a context of climate change. A comprehensive inventory of SMPs and their capacity to succeed in multiple scenarios, agricultural production, ecosystem services, biogeochemical cycles, is lacking. By using a survey approach, i-SoMPE will aim to document these innovative agricultural practices. The collected data will be synthesized considering technical and ecological constraints and socio-economic barriers. Context-specific thematic maps will be provided to guide policy makers towards the most efficient innovative SMPs as sustainable climate-smart tools.
