The Greenhouse and Phytotron Service is a technical scientific service of IRNASA that offers space for growing and cultivating plants for experiments belonging to the projects of the different IRNASA-CSIC research groups that request it, as well as to public centres and private companies.
GREENHOUSE
The greenhouse consists of four independent compartments. Each is equipped with three cultivation tables (350 x 80 cm), humidification system (fog-system), air conditioning, shading system with aluminium filter screens with automated folding and unfolding mechanism, lighting system and automatic irrigation.
It is also equipped with a weather station consisting of temperature, relative humidity and solar radiation sensors to monitor environmental conditions.
PHYTOTRON
The phytotron consists of two independent chambers for the growth and cultivation of plants with precise control of environmental conditions.
Each growth chamber is equipped with two 250 x 140 cm tables. These chambers offer the possibility to enrich the atmosphere with CO2, to carry out experiments at extreme temperatures, as well as to regulate the relative humidity and the photoperiod.
